About Our Client

Our client is a fast-growing eCommerce retention marketing agency specializing in email and SMS marketing for DTC brands. They've helped generate $30M+ in attributed revenue for 100+ brands across 13 industries — Dr. Kellyann, Rest.com, Mito Red Light, Hank's Belts, Unbound Merino, and more — sending 200M+ emails along the way. They operate like an in-house team for every brand they touch, and build strategy around the business. They're growing their roster and need a strategist who can own accounts end-to-end.

About the Role

This is an Account Manager role focused on managing client relationships, overseeing retention marketing strategy, coordinating pod execution, and ensuring high-quality campaign delivery across email and SMS accounts.

The ideal candidate has previous experience inside an eCommerce email marketing agency, understands retention marketing deeply, and is comfortable managing multiple client accounts while coordinating copywriters, designers, and Klaviyo technical resources.

Responsibilities

  • Own retention strategy across a portfolio of accounts (ideally 8-10).
  • Produce monthly reporting and strategy briefs: what we said we'd do, what actually happened, and a clear path forward
  • Build the plan using our ACR Model. Map the customer lifecycle, find where revenue is leaking, and decide which levers — acquisition, conversion, retention — move the needle for that specific brand.
  • Own segmentation, flow architecture, and the campaign calendar. Define the logic and the journey, then brief the team that builds it. 8–25+ campaigns a month depending on the account.
  • Read accounts in business terms. AOV, margins, LTV, acquisition source, product mix, repeat-purchase rate — not just opens and clicks
  • Keep accounts healthy. Deliverability monitoring, list hygiene, and proactive fixes before they become problems.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client communication and strategic discussions.
  • Coordinate internal pod execution between copywriters, designers, and dedicated Klaviyo technical support resources.
  • Analyze campaign performance metrics and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Assist with onboarding new clients and establishing clear communication workflows.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in account management, retention marketing, lifecycle marketing, or client-facing agency roles.
  • A proven track record running email/SMS retention for DTC brands — ideally 7-9 figures. Bring examples and results.
  • Previous experience working in a U.S., Canadian, or U.K.-based eCommerce email marketing agency is strongly preferred.
  • Deep experience in Klaviyo (our primary platform) plus SMS tools like Postscript or Attentive. You get into the data yourself.
  • Basic knowledge of Figma and project management tools (i.e. ClickUp).
  • Strong customer psychology and business instincts — you ask business questions before you touch a platform. 
  • The ability to diagnose a struggling account: is this a segment problem, an offer problem, a creative problem, or a business problem?
  • Ability to review and provide feedback on direct response email copy and creative assets.
  • Strong client communication and relationship management skills.
  • Highly organized with strong project management and operational coordination abilities.
  • A hard worker who's hungry to grow. There's a lot of room here.

Offer Details

  • Full-time remote role.
  • Preference for LATAM or Eastern European candidates able to overlap with U.S. Eastern working hours.
  • Target compensation: $4,000–$4,500 USD per month depending on experience.
  • Long-term growth opportunities as the agency scales additional pods and client accounts.
