About Our Client

Our client is a fast-growing eCommerce retention marketing agency specializing in email and SMS marketing for DTC brands. They've helped generate $30M+ in attributed revenue for 100+ brands across 13 industries — Dr. Kellyann, Rest.com, Mito Red Light, Hank's Belts, Unbound Merino, and more — sending 200M+ emails along the way. They operate like an in-house team for every brand they touch, and build strategy around the business. As they continue to scale, they're looking for a Copywriter who can craft high-converting email and SMS campaigns that drive revenue and strengthen brand loyalty.

About the Role

This is a Copywriter role focused on creating compelling direct-response email and SMS content for DTC eCommerce brands. You'll work closely with Account Managers, designers, and Klaviyo specialists to execute retention marketing strategies across multiple client accounts.

The ideal candidate understands consumer psychology, knows how to write copy that converts, and has previous experience writing for eCommerce brands inside an agency environment. You should be comfortable adapting to different brand voices while balancing creativity with performance-driven marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Write high-converting email campaigns, SMS campaigns, and automated flow content for 7-10 DTC eCommerce brands.

  • Develop compelling subject lines, preview text, hooks, CTAs, and promotional messaging that drive opens, clicks, and conversions.

  • Collaborate with Account Managers and strategists to align copy with overall retention marketing goals and campaign calendars.

  • Write and optimize lifecycle flows including welcome, abandoned cart, browse abandonment, post-purchase, win-back, and retention sequences.

  • Adapt copy across multiple brand voices while maintaining consistency and authenticity.

  • Review campaign performance metrics and apply insights to improve future messaging.

  • Collaborate with designers to ensure copy and visuals work cohesively.

  • Conduct research on client products, target audiences, offers, and competitors to strengthen messaging strategy.

  • Contribute creative ideas for launches, promotions, seasonal campaigns, and retention initiatives.

  • Ensure all copy is clear, accurate, on-brand, and aligned with direct-response best practices.

  • Manage deadlines efficiently while handling multiple accounts and campaign deliverables simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in copywriting, email marketing, retention marketing, or agency-based DTC marketing roles.

  • Proven experience writing direct-response email and SMS campaigns for eCommerce brands.

  • Previous experience working inside a U.S., Canadian, or U.K.-based eCommerce email marketing agency is strongly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of retention marketing principles and customer lifecycle marketing.

  • Ability to write persuasive, conversion-focused copy while maintaining each brand's tone of voice.

  • Familiarity with Klaviyo and SMS platforms such as Postscript or Attentive is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of customer psychology, buyer behavior, and DTC marketing fundamentals.

  • Ability to interpret campaign performance data and apply learnings to future copy.

  • Excellent attention to detail, grammar, and editing skills.

Offer Details

  • Full-time remote role.

  • Preference for LATAM or Eastern European candidates able to overlap with U.S. Eastern working hours.

  • Target compensation: $2,200–$2,800 USD per month depending on experience.
