Key Activities and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage client engagements, delivering high-quality audit, tax, and advisory services
- Participate in the ongoing development and establishment of accounting policies, procedures, and operational strategies, including the review and implementation of process and system changes
- Review tax provisions for clients
- Build positive working relationships with clients and respond effectively to their requests and suggestions
- Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies for various clients
- Stay current on the content and practical applications of tax, accounting, and assurance standards, and know how to access and research professional and technical materials
- Design and review processes, procedures, and workflows within the department
- Collaborate with managers and other senior managers for capacity and resource planning
Qualifications and Experience:
- Completion of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in public accounting, with a proven track record of success in client service and business development
- Strong technical skills in accounting, auditing, and tax compliance
- Experience working with Caseware/Caseview, Jazzit, Keystone, Excel, and Profile
- Advanced Canadian tax knowledge personal, corporate, excise, and advanced knowledge of Canadian GAAPs ASPE and ASNFPO
- Ability to mentor, coach, and develop junior staff
