About the job Senior Pavement Engineer
Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Pavement Engineer to lead and manage our pavement engineering projects, with a particular focus on pavement management systems (PMS). The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in both empirical and mechanistic-empirical pavement design and will be responsible for overseeing pavement evaluations, preparing detailed technical reports, and guiding decision-making processes through the development of deterioration models and fine-tuning decision trees. In this role, you will conduct pavement evaluations, interpret test data, and use advanced pavement analysis tools. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes aligned with international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Project Management: Lead and manage pavement engineering projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to quality, budget, and timelines.
- Pavement Design: Develop both empirical and mechanistic-empirical pavement designs for various pavement types and conditions, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and standards.
- Pavement Management Systems (PMS): Utilize your expertise in PMS to develop, calibrate, and implement pavement deterioration models and decision trees.
- Data Interpretation: Conduct and interpret data from destructive and non-destructive testing methods such as FWD (Falling Weight Deflectometer), GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar), Friction Tester, and LCMS-2. Provide training to junior engineers on equipment use and data interpretation.
- Technical Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports, proposals, and bids that clearly outline project methodologies, results, and recommendations for clients.
- Software Utilization: Utilize advanced pavement analysis software to support project development and analysis. Stay updated on new software advancements and implement them where appropriate.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs and recommendations comply with international standards such as FAA ACs, ICAO, GACA, Saudi ARAMCO, AASHTO, and DMRB.
- Client Relations & Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders. Provide technical advice and ensure client requirements are fully understood and met.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry developments and innovations in pavement engineering, and apply this knowledge to improve the companys services.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in pavement engineering, focusing on pavement management systems (PMS) and leadership roles.
- Technical Expertise: Proficient in developing and calibrating deterioration models and fine-tuning decision trees. Strong background in both empirical and mechanistic-empirical pavement design. Solid experience in interpreting data from FWD, GPR, Friction Tester, and LCMS-2. Familiarity with key industry standards (FAA ACs, ICAO, GACA, Saudi ARAMCO, AASHTO, DMRB).
- Software Proficiency: Skilled in using popular pavement analysis software. Ability to interpret results from destructive and non-destructive testing methods.
- Reporting & Bid Preparation: Proven ability to prepare bids and write comprehensive technical reports.
- Training Capabilities: Capable of providing training and guidance to junior engineers on data interpretation and the use of technical equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Professional Engineer (PE) license. MSCE (Master of Science in Civil Engineering), ME (Master of Engineering), or Ph.D. in a relevant field, preferably from the US, Europe, or UK.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages relevant to pavement design and analysis.
- Software Knowledge: Familiarity with commercial pavement design and evaluation software.
- Flexibility & Collaboration: Willingness to travel to different company branches and work closely with other team leaders to drive project success.
