  1. Key Job Responsibilities:
  • To proactively develop product strategies together with the brand PD and Sourcing team that would enable the brand to successfully stay ahead of market competition.
  • To devise a strategic plan and drive the development of merchandising capabilities, processes and methodologies within the company
  • To strategically source and develop alliance factories that compliments the company's existing OEM capabilities.
  • To proactively plan and develop the right people structure in all the OEM operations and work in conjunction with the other Corp members in IE, HR, Manufacturing etc.
  • To develop a product develop plan and strategy to achieve the business and budget objectives
  • To proactively source for materials and trims that would improve our competitiveness
  • To proactively develop alliance factories.
  • To oversee and ensure the right allocation of products to different OEMs and strategic alliance factories to achieve these operational units targets.
  • To stay on top of the market trends and dynamics in China
  • To proactively work with Customers on our technology solutions and create products that will meet their innovation requirements for the market.
  • To ensure all merchandising teams are properly executing bulk and sample development orders
  • To constantly coach, build and develop a sales and merchandising operation team and ensure its smooth daily operation

II. Competency Requirement

  • Bachelors degree in any discipline
  • 20 years experience in the business/merchandising positions for apparel brands and/or OEM setting. With 5 years in a senior management with P&L responsibility preferred.
  • Fluent Mandarin is a must, and Cantonese and English an advantage
  • This position requires stationing in Dandong and frequent travelling to Dongguan, and major cities for market visits
  • Experience in working in a Business and Product development role, bridging customer needs and inhouse technical teams, and external material and trims suppliers.
  • Experience in developing product strategy and product mix
  • Experience in positions that are accountable for business performance
  • Garment Making Technical knowledge is a must
  • Product Costing experience is also a must
  • Sound knowledge in textile technicalities
  • Experience in working in transformative projects in a large OEM or in national Chinese brand.
  • Hands-on Experience in developing new capabilities at a factory merchandising level.
  • Positive and having a growth mindset.
  • Strong communication in Chinese, and can discuss issues with different stakeholders with confidence and with minimal supervision
  • Can bring people together to overcome challenges together
  • Logical and strong problem solving capability
  • Willing to make decisions
