Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Microwave Link Design Engineer with proven experience in planning and designing robust, interference-free point-to-point (P2P) and point-to-multipoint (PMP) microwave networks. The ideal candidate must have hands-on expertise with DU projects in the UAE, including link budget analysis, frequency planning, path profile analysis, and equipment selection based on project and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and plan Microwave transmission links (SDH/IP/MPLS), ensuring optimal link availability and minimal interference.

Perform link budget calculations, Fresnel zone analysis, and path profile assessments using industry tools like Pathloss, Mentum, or HTZ Warfare.

Conduct frequency planning and interference analysis in coordination with regulatory bodies and DU engineering teams.

Select appropriate radio equipment, antennas, and transmission lines (e.g., Huawei, Nokia, Ceragon, SIAE).

Ensure designs meet DUs technical standards, SLA requirements, and coverage expectations.

Prepare design documentation including link design reports, diagrams, and BoQs.

Coordinate with field teams for site surveys, LOS clearance, and alignment verification.

Support network optimization, link migration, and troubleshooting activities during implementation.

Ensure compliance with UAE telecom authority guidelines and DU-specific engineering procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelors degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.

Minimum 35 years of hands-on experience in Microwave link design, with at least 2 years in DU projects.

Proficient in design tools like Pathloss 5, Mentum Link Planner, or similar.

Strong knowledge of radio propagation, spectrum management, and antenna theory.

Familiarity with DU documentation standards, link approval processes, and internal planning tools.

Experience in working with LOS surveys, GIS mapping, and AutoCAD for site planning (preferred).

Good communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional project teams.

UAE driving license is a plus.
