About the Project:

The project is with the software craftsmen behind the digital products of all the media brands and all our internal applications that keep our business running. This means they enable the biggest news & entertainment brands in The Netherlands and Belgium via technology.

• Discovering the agile culture in the media industry.
• Delivering incremental business value with high quality and high speed as well as providing good support to their customers, is what they do.

+500 colleagues working from Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Vilvoorde, Antwerp and Hoofddorp. They believe the unit of delivery is the team. They want to mobilize all the brainpower they can and therefore try to organise their work environment without unnecessary levels and hierarchies, pigeon holes or marching orders to simply be executed.

Understanding the “why” is a prerequisite for doing what they do best. Understanding the problem is key to finding good solutions. Since they don't know what the future will be, they optimize for scale when it makes sense, for fast experiments & learning wherever they can.

Selectives Area

Their team creates the best experiences for our premium news brands. They are building and running a white-label platform for these brands for web, mobile and tablets. Their team builds and runs the platform front-to-back (DevOps) with back-end, front-end, web- and app-developers. They don't have "bug"-teams, so 'You build it, You Run it!'.

Vereisten

iOS developer
As an iOS developer you are working on our apps for iPad and iPhone. You collaborate with your feature team and the iOS developers in the other feature teams. In your role you will also communicate with editors, marketeers, designers, iOS developers from other Areas. You set expectations and keep your promises. You are not scared of complex problems but you trust your experience to solve each problem. 
Technical skills

• IT HBO/WO education 
• At least 5 years experience in native iOS development
• Has experience with different in-app architectures and is able to make decisions based on clear pro’s and cons
• Test Driven Development
• Agile Scrum and Scaled Scrum (LeSS or SaFE)
• React Native and Android/Kotlin are nice to have

Soft skills

• Great communication skills: explain complex iOS challenges to non technical business people and manage expectations
• A real team player with a getting things done mentality
• Capable to analyse complex problems and looks ahead to mitigate risks
  
• Reads, writes and speaks both English and Dutch
