Position Overview:
We have teamed up with an organization seeking an experienced and dynamic Surgical Services RN Director to lead the Surgical Services Department. This role requires a visionary leader who can manage and improve clinical operations, ensure patient safety, and inspire a high-performing team. The Director will oversee all surgical service lines, ensuring excellence in quality care, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management: Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Surgical Services Department, including the Operating Room (OR), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Sterile Processing, Pre-op, and related areas.
- Operational Oversight: Oversee daily operations, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflows.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS), hospital policies, and industry best practices. Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Financial Management: Manage departmental budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining high-quality care.
- Staff Development: Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing and ancillary staff. Foster a positive work environment and promote professional development opportunities.
- Collaboration: Partner with physicians, hospital leadership, and other departments to develop and implement programs that enhance surgical services and patient satisfaction.
- Patient-Centered Care: Advocate for and ensure patient safety, dignity, and quality care throughout the surgical process.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Masters degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- Licensure: Active RN license in California
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience in surgical services, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Expertise in surgical services workflows, quality improvement, and budget management.
- Ability to manage change, solve complex problems, and build collaborative relationships.
A current OR Director that has great expertise engaging with their clinical team while also providing high volume patient care is preferred.
