We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Chiller Technician to join our team.
Job Summary:
As an HVAC Chiller Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including chillers, pumps, and advanced rooftop units. This role requires a highly skilled technician with a strong understanding of HVAC systems and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial and industrial chiller systems, including centrifugal, screw, scroll, and reciprocating chillers.
Diagnose and resolve issues with refrigeration circuits, compressors, evaporators, condensers, and other system components.
Work on water source heat pumps (WSHP), including maintenance and troubleshooting of water loops and heat exchange systems.
Service and maintain pumps used in HVAC systems, including chilled water and condenser water pumps.
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot rooftop units (RTUs) and advanced systems like Trane IntelliPaks.
Perform maintenance and repairs on self-contained water-cooled units (SWUDs).
Conduct system performance tests and ensure optimal operation of HVAC systems and associated equipment.
Work with building automation systems (BAS) to monitor and adjust chiller and HVAC performance.
Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics for troubleshooting and repairs.
Maintain accurate service records and documentation of repairs and maintenance.
Communicate effectively with clients and team members to provide updates and recommendations.
Education, Qualifications and Skills:
To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required); technical or trade school certification in HVAC systems (preferred).
EPA Section 608 Certification (required).
Manufacturer-specific training or certifications (e.g., Trane, Carrier, York) (preferred).
State HVAC or refrigeration license (if required by location).
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an HVAC technician, with a focus on chiller systems.
Hands-on experience with water source heat pumps (WSHP), pumps, rooftop units (RTUs), IntelliPaks, and self-contained water-cooled units (SWUDs).
Experience with commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles and principles.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and control issues in HVAC systems.
Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
