Background

Workpay is steadily and successfully integrating financial wellness to its core business, HR and payroll management. Operating under 4 pillars i.e., Transact, Borrow, Invest and Protect, the financial services department is in search of a dynamic and an all-star B2B & B2C credit sales professional, to manage our credit portfolio arm, that falls under the ‘Borrow’ pillar; He or She will ensure that our Workpay lending program, operates seamlessly to deliver on our increasingly ambitious lending revenue targets.

Role Overview

This role requires an experienced, aggressive and sales-oriented mindset. In this position, you will act as a liaison between Workpay’s existing clients and Workpay’s Financial Services department by ensuring qualified clients are taken through Financial Services orientation. Your duties will include meeting with clients, having MOUs signed, examining active loans and conducting Workpay employee roadshows for all our clients. The ideal candidate will have experience managing different types of financial services products and growing assigned portfolios to profitability. To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You will report to and work extremely close with the Senior Manager for Financial Services and Workpay Chief Business Officer

Job Purpose Summary:

  • In charge of daily and weekly loan reports

  • In charge of strategies and execution under the lending portfolio

  • In charge of weekly Workpay Employee Roadshows

  • Grow a quality loan portfolio aiming at 75% portfolio penetration rate

  • Update job knowledge on types of loans and other financial services products within Workpay

  • Maintain and update portfolio records

  • Assess customer needs, explore all options and introduce different types of loans

  • Uphold transparency to clients on the credit application process and requirements and offer clarification on all matters.

  • Build Product Knowledge and awareness to identify potential opportunities to up-sell and cross-sell.

  • Complete loan contracts and counsel clients on policies and restrictions

  • Evaluate credit proposals and applications rapidly to ensure that loans are processed within Workpays Turnaround Time (TAT).

  • Ensure full compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements by collecting detailed information on each client through meetings and field visits (home, business, suppliers, customers, guarantors,) and loan appraisal (financial analysis, repayment capacity, tenure, collateral etc.).

  • Go the “extra mile” to build trust relationships, customer loyalty and satisfaction throughout the

  • Operate in compliance with laws and regulations and adhere to lending compliance guidelines

  • Respond to applicants' questions and resolve any loan-related issues.

Required Qualities and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related course

  • Credit Management and Credit skills

  • Excellent Analytical Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field

  • Excellent Communication Skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines

  • Experience in the Financial Industry with a minimum of 5 years’ experience

  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds

  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding set targets

  • Self-motivated, self-directed, mature, ambitious, intelligent, articulate and knowledgeable

  • Proven ability to do consultative and concept selling

  • High sense of ethics by recommending products and services that are in the best interest of the clients fostering long term commitments
