Role Overview
Workpay is seeking a meticulous and highly organized Payments Accountant to manage and oversee all aspects of payment processing, including wallet top-ups, salary payments, statutory payments, and company expenses. The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in all payment-related activities, contributing to the seamless financial operations at Workpay.
Key Responsibilities
- Wallet Top-Ups: Manage and process wallet top-ups for clients, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
- EoR Salary Payments: Oversee and execute salary payments for Employer of Record (EoR) clients, ensuring compliance with local regulations and client agreements
- Statutory Payments for Outsource and EoR Clients: Process and manage statutory payments for both outsource and EoR clients, including taxes and social security contributions, ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
- Approval and Payment of Company Expenses: Review, approve, and process company expenses, ensuring all expenditures are authorized, documented, and in line with company policies.
- Reconciliation of Client Accounts: Perform regular reconciliations of client accounts to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are promptly addressed.
- Overseeing Local Client Payments in the System: Monitor and manage local client payments within the system, ensuring timely and accurate processing and addressing any issues that arise.
- Any other payment-related duties that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional accounting certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is preferred.
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a payroll or payments environment.
Strong understanding of payroll processes, statutory requirements, and financial reconciliation.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
