Job Openings Facilities Mechanical (Process Piping) Engineer

About the job Facilities Mechanical (Process Piping) Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced facilities process engineer, responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, and operation of process utility systems for their OSAT factory. This includes chilled water, cooling towers, condenser water, process cooling, steam and hot water systems, reclaim water, potable water, and process vacuum systems. This role ensures reliable and efficient delivery of utilities to support cleanroom and manufacturing operations.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will evolve throughout the project lifecycle, ranging from design and commissioning to full-scale operations, requiring adaptability and a proactive approach to each phase.

Collaborate with design consultants to ensure process utility system requirements are met.

  • Review engineering drawings, submittals, and monitor construction progress.
  • Support commissioning activities, including equipment preparation and operational testing.
  • Identify and resolve abnormalities during construction and start-up phases.
  • Manage documentation, manuals, and handover processes for process systems.
  • Provide operational and maintenance support for chilled water systems, cooling towers, steam systems, and process vacuum systems.
  • Address Out-of-Control Action Plan (OCAP) conditions in cleanroom environments related to temperature, humidity, and process utility pressure deviations.
  • Monitor system performance through trend analysis, inspections, and technical reporting.
  • Identify and implement energy-saving opportunities across process systems to support sustainability goals.
  • Research and implement technology upgrades to improve reliability, efficiency, and safety.
  • Perform system capacity planning, troubleshooting, and sustaining activities to meet production demands.
  • Partner with operations and maintenance teams to optimize system performance and streamline maintenance strategies.
  • Conduct system evaluations and implement improvements through capital and expense projects.
  • Apply reliability engineering principles, including FMEA and root cause analysis, to improve system performance.

Review tool process schematics during hook-up phase and perform engineering inspections.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in process utility systems engineering (design and operations), preferably in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of chilled water systems, cooling towers, steam systems, and process vacuum systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom standards and adjacent disciplines (HVAC, exhaust systems).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, and Bluebeam.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in semiconductor facility design, construction, commissioning, and start-up.

Professional Engineering License (PE) is a plus.
