Role Overview:
The Project Control/Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics to ensure efficient project execution within the oil and gas sector. The role requires a detail-oriented professional skilled in project planning tools and experienced in coordinating multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within scope.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, update, and manage project schedules using Microsoft Project and Primavera P6.
- Track project progress, monitor key milestones, and report performance metrics.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to align timelines and deliverables.
- Prepare and maintain project control documents including budgets, forecasts, and progress reports.
- Develop and implement project control procedures, tools, and templates to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Analyse project data to identify trends, variances, and potential risks; provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Support cost control, resource planning, and risk management activities.
- Ensure all project activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- 3-7 years of proven experience in project control or planning within the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and other relevant project management tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Excellent ability to interpret project data and prepare detailed progress reports.
- Knowledge of project management principles, cost control, and scheduling best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
