Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HSE Manager to lead and oversee all Health, Safety, and Environmental functions within our Oil & Gas servicing operations in Warri. The ideal candidate will ensure full regulatory compliance, drive a strong safety culture across field and office operations, and implement systems that promote operational excellence while minimizing risk.
Key Responsibilities
HSE Strategy & Leadership
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the company's HSE policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Provide leadership in promoting a strong safety culture across all operational sites.
- Advise management on HSE risks, compliance obligations, and mitigation strategies.
Compliance & Regulatory Management
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian regulatory bodies (DPR/NUPRC, FMEnv, NOSDRA, OSHA-equivalent standards, etc.) and client HSE requirements.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external auditors during inspections and audits.
- Maintain all required HSE documentation, certifications, and permits.
Risk Management & Incident Control
- Conduct risk assessments, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and HAZID/HAZOP reviews.
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis; implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor and report HSE performance metrics and recommend improvement initiatives.
Training & Awareness
- Design and coordinate HSE training programs, toolbox talks, drills, and emergency response exercises.
- Ensure employees and subcontractors are properly trained and compliant with safety standards.
Environmental Management
- Oversee waste management, pollution prevention, spill response, and environmental monitoring activities.
- Ensure environmental impact mitigation in line with industry best practices.
Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
- Coordinate emergency drills and ensure readiness across operational sites.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
- Minimum of 12+ years of HSE experience within the Oil & Gas sector servicing.
- Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, ISPON, OSHA, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian Oil & Gas regulatory framework.
- Proven experience managing HSE on field operations, offshore/onshore projects.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in high-risk, fast-paced operational environments.
