Job Purpose
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing project costs, contracts, and commercial aspects of construction projects, ensuring that all projects are delivered within approved budgets while maintaining value for money.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess construction drawings, plans, and specifications to prepare accurate quantity take-offs
- Establish quantities, man-hours, and all cost-related elements for projects; prepare pricing tables and cost estimation sheets
- Analyze tender and bidding documents and determine quantities based on tender requirements
- Liaise and work collaboratively with tendering teams, site managers, clients, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders
- Prepare and submit reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and other commercial documents to management
- Document and manage design changes and update project budgets accordingly
- Assist with the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans
- Review material, maintenance, and contract costs to ensure cost efficiency and best value
- Ensure complete and accurate transfer of all tender documents, including revisions, to the project execution team upon contract award
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelors degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in quantity surveying or estimation within the oil and gas or construction sector
- Strong analytical, numerical, and critical-thinking skills
- Proven experience in construction estimating and/or project finance
- In-depth knowledge of construction principles, practices, and cost control methods
