Job Summary

The Project Director - Operations is responsible for translating the company's corporate objectives into executable operational plans and ensuring seamless end-to-end EPC project delivery within the Oil & Gas sector. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across engineering, project operations, construction, HSE, quality, and contracts, while strengthening governance, accountability, and performance management frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate the company's corporate goals into actionable operational plans, execution standards, and performance targets across all supervised departments.

  • Drive alignment between engineering, project operations, construction, HSE, quality, and contract execution to ensure seamless end-to-end EPC delivery.

  • Support the Managing Director in strengthening governance, accountability, and operational decision-making frameworks.

  • Ensure standardized EPC processes are consistently applied across tendering, planning, execution, cost control, billing, and project close-out.

  • Drive adherence to approved project budgets, schedules, quality standards, and contractual obligations.

  • Monitor project performance metrics, proactively identify risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain predictable delivery outcomes.

  • Ensure ERP systems (D365 Business Central) and other digital tools are effectively utilized for project tracking, reporting, and operational controls.

  • Provide leadership oversight to Engineering and Construction teams to ensure design integrity, constructability, and execution efficiency.

  • Ensure effective interface management between engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.

  • Promote continuous improvement, value engineering, and cost optimization initiatives across all projects.

  • Coordinate with the tender and estimation function to ensure accurate cost estimates, competitive pricing, effective risk identification, and alignment with company margin targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (a Masters degree is an advantage).

  • Minimum of 20 years experience in EPC project execution within the Oil & Gas sector, with at least 5 years in a senior operations leadership role.
