Responsibilities:

1. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure the factory complies with local, national, and international environmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Monitor and report environmental metrics, such as air emissions, wastewater discharge, and waste & hazardous management, ensuring compliance with permits and legal limits.
  • Maintain records and documentation required for regulatory audits and inspections.

2. Environmental Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Develop and implement systems to monitor environmental performance, including air, water, and waste metrics.
  • Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies and company management on a regular basis.

3. Sustainability Initiatives:

  • Lead efforts to reduce energy consumption, water usage, and waste production in the manufacturing process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement resource efficiency projects, such as water recycling, waste-to-energy systems, and sustainable sourcing of materials.
  • Set and monitor sustainability targets, ensuring alignment with corporate sustainability goals.

4. Waste and Resource Management:

  • Oversee waste management programs, including recycling and disposal of industrial waste, while ensuring minimal environmental impact.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce, reuse, or recycle materials, promoting circular economy practices within the factory.

5. ESG Compliance:

  • Support the companys Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives by aligning factory operations with broader corporate sustainability goals.
  • Assist in the development of ESG reports, communicating the factorys environmental performance to stakeholders, including board and regulators.

6. Risk Management:

  • Conduct environmental risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to prevent or respond to environmental incidents.
  • Ensure emergency preparedness for environmental hazards, including spills, emissions, or hazardous waste leaks.

Requirements:

  • First Degree or its equivalent in environmental science, Environmental Engineering,
  • Sustainability, or a related field.
  • Masters degree or professional certifications (e.g., ISO 14001, EMS) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant work experience in environmental management,
  • preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the food and beverage industry is an added advantage
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance standards.
  • Expertise in waste, water, and energy management systems.
  • Ability to lead environmental audits and interact with regulatory authorities.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in sustainability reporting and environmental metrics tracking
