Job Title: Assistant IT Manager

Salary: 500,000 - 700,000

Purpose:

To oversee the management of the company's IT infrastructure, systems, and services, ensuring the optimal operation of hardware, software, and network resources. The role is responsible for maintaining and improving IT systems, supporting business needs, managing external vendors, and developing IT policies and procedures. This position will also handle the support of an ERP system and other critical software tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the companys IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and communication systems (internet, VoIP).
  • Ensure systems are running optimally, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance on IT hardware and software.
  • Oversee data backup processes, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity efforts.
  • Oversee and provide technical support to employees across locations, ensuring timely resolution of hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Manage support requests related to internet connectivity, laptop purchases, repairs, and general IT equipment. Oversee the management and optimization of the ERP system (e.g., Sage 300), ensuring that it meets the operational and functional needs of the business.
  • Liaise with vendors and consultants to ensure proper functionality and updates of the ERP system.
  • Manage other business-critical software systems, including installation, updates, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure security, data protection, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Safeguard the organizations data and IT infrastructure against cybersecurity threats by maintaining strong network security measures, anti-virus solutions, and firewalls.
  • Conduct regular IT audits and reviews to identify potential risks or areas for improvement.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors for IT-related purchases and services, ensuring the company receives optimal service and value.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets and perform regular reviews to ensure efficient utilization and upgrades as necessary.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and best practices for the organization.
  • Lead IT projects such as systems upgrades, installations, and other technical initiatives
  • Manage and oversee the annual IT budget and ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor IT team performance, assigning tasks and setting deadlines for key projects
  • Any tasks as assigned by Line Manager

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring of IT systems performance.
  • Preserve assets by implementing disaster recovery, back-up procedures, and information security and control structures.
  • Report regularly to management on IT projects and infrastructure status.

Key Interfaces:

  • All internal departments, IT service providers, software vendors, and other technology stakeholders.

Supervises:

IT support staff, system administrators, network engineers.

KPIs:

  • System uptime and reliability.
  • IT project completion within budget and timelines.
  • User satisfaction ratings.
  • Security incidents and resolutions.

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Masters degree or certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP) are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of IT management experience, including managing IT infrastructure, ERP systems, and technical support teams.
  • Proficiency in managing network infrastructure, servers, databases, and firewalls.
  • Experience with ERP systems, such as Sage 300, and other business software.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and data protection regulations.
  • Familiarity with cloud solutions, virtualization, and remote working technologies..
  • Proficient in managing multiple IT disciplines i.e., software development, technical support, systems architecture, etc.
  • Certifications in ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco, or similar credentials are highly desirable.
