Position Title: Assistant Terminal Manager

Reports To: Operations Director/Regional Manager

Location: Lagos Ibadan expressway , Mowe

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the day-to-day terminal operations, including loading, and off-loading.
  • Ensure accurate arrangement of containers within the terminal using the FIFO method.
  • Implement and monitor terminal SOPs to enhance efficiency. Maintain safety, and coordination of the terminal.
  • Supervise the distribution of goods by trailer drivers.
  • Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and in line with customer requirements.
  • Monitor driver schedules, routes, and performance.
  • Address and resolve any delivery issues or customer complaints promptly.
  • Supervise terminal staff, including trailer drivers and Motor-boys.
  • Conduct regular road compliance and safety inspections on the trailers and drivers before trip.
  • Maintain accurate records of operations, incidents, and compliance reports.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and loyalty. Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on terminal operations, distribution performance, and key metrics.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in terminal operations, logistics, or transportation management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in logistics and transportation management systems.
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations related to terminal and transportation operations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to excellent service.
