Our client in the oil and gas engineering and construction field is seeking to hire a Senior Mechanical Technician
Responsibilities:
A. Ability to diagnose, programme and repair diesel engines like Caterpillar Engines, Cummins Engines, Libya Engines, Perkins Engines, etc.
B. Oversee the installation of new mechanical systems, ensuring they are properly integrated and meet operational requirements and identify and resolve complex mechanical faults in equipment such as pumps, motors, compressors, and other machinery.
C. Oversee day-to-day activities of a mechanical maintenance team, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring that safety and quality standards are adhered to
D. Assign and prioritize work for junior Mechanics, ensuring optimal resource utilization and meeting project deadlines.
E. Conduct site surveys and assessments.
F. Create and or interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
G. Manage or assist with the upgrade of outdated or inefficient mechanical systems and components.
H. Ensure compliance with mechanical codes and regulations and with health and safety regulations, ensuring that mechanics work in a safe environment, using proper safety gear, and adhering to all safety procedures
I. Conduct mechanical system testing and commissioning.
J. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and maintenance of Equipment.
K. Communicate with engineers, other technicians, and management to ensure efficient operation of mechanical systems and resolve any issues promptly.
Requirements:
-A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
-5-10 years of proven experience in Mechanical engineering, with significant experience in the oil and gas industry.
-Onshore and offshore experience is required
