Job Overview
The procurement manager would be responsible for sourcing quality goods and/or services at the most competitive price to meet the Organizations needs in line with the procurement policy.
The Procurement Manager is to ensure the smooth running of the importation process in line with the Nigerian Customs requirements when necessary. Imported goods would be, but not limited to, building materials
Job Description:
The post holder will work as part of the larger team but with reach across the organization and beyond to coordinate the following functions:
Design processes and procedures to implement the Procurement policy
Ensure that transactions are processed in compliance with the Clients Procurement policy to meet specific organizational requirements.
Ensure a smooth implementation of the Clients Procurement PPPs across the business for the procurement of goods and services through education of the end-users.
Identify potential suppliers who can provide required quality goods/services at the most competitive price, at the right time, and to the right location to bring about significant savings.
Run through the procurement process professionally and, innovatively/creatively, generate savings
Monitor suppliers performance to ensure high quality of goods/services and timely delivery.
Ensures that favorable commercial terms, conditions of purchase, warranties, and sale support services are negotiated and agreed with suppliers.
Issue RFI/RFQ/RFP to suppliers and ensure to receive responses at the required time.
Prepare analysis of quotations/bids within Timelines/SLA for approval
Convert requisitions to POs in line with agreed SLA
Liaise with other departments to understand their requirement upfront for proper planning
Analyze trends and market conditions for present and future pricing, availability, lead-time, and capacity of suppliers for specific goods and services.
Monitor the performance of the Supplier for increased productivity (Supplier management) through supplier performance evaluation in conjunction with the end user
Importation: Where required, ensure all regulatory and shipping documents(in line with Nigerian Customs requirements) are proactively processed to ensure goods are shipped and cleared within the shortest possible time, without incurring demurrage
Submission of updated weekly procurement dashboard to the CPO
Provide regular progress and status reports to stakeholders on the status of the transaction
Provide monthly procurement updates at the management meetings
Other duties as assigned
Education and Work Experience
Masters degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or any related field.
Relevant Professional Certification(CIPS)would be an added advantage
Minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar role
