Our client, a leader in the oil and gas and fabrication industry, is seeking a skilled Scaffolding Coordinator to oversee all scaffolding and V-deck activities, including materials, personnel, and scheduling. As the technical expert, the Scaffolding Coordinator will ensure all site requirements, such as calculation notes and drawings, are met while providing the tools and resources necessary for the team to work efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Responsibilities

  • Review work procedures and method statements related to scaffolding and V-deck activities.
  • Provide KPIs for scaffolding productivity and track improvements.
  • Ensure optimal use of scaffolding and V-deck materials while maintaining an updated inventory.
  • Coordinate scaffolding and V-deck activities across all client projects.
  • Allocate personnel and ensure qualifications and certifications are up to standard.
  • Organize and schedule training for Supervisors, Foremen, and Workers.
  • Monitor scaffolding materials across sites and maintain accurate hire records.
  • Assist in tender visits and provide scaffolding-related input for technical offers.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure adherence to quality and productivity standards.
  • Maintain accurate data on scaffolding quantities per site and in stock.
  • Supervise preparation of scaffolding equipment for daily operations.
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure timely material supply.
  • Prepare and execute monthly inspection plans for scaffolding materials at all sites and the Port Harcourt yard.

HSE Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in HSE activities, including toolbox and HSE meetings.
  • Identify hazards and assess risks associated with scaffolding operations.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Establish and monitor QHSE objectives annually.

QMS Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in Quality Management System (QMS) activities and processes.
  • Set, track, and monitor quality objectives.
  • Comply with company quality policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote risk-based thinking and customer focus within operations.
  • Ensure adherence to established processes and procedures.

Person Specification

Education and Training

  • General education up to elementary level (minimum).
  • CITB advanced-level certification (mandatory).
  • Leadership skills training as per company policy.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in scaffolding, preferably in the oil and gas and fabrication industry.

Essential Skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Leadership capabilities and technical expertise in scaffolding.
  • Effective presentation and organizational skills.
