The Head of Maintenance & Engineering is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of terminals, which serve as vital hubs for receiving, storing, and distributing petroleum products.

Accountabilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the terminals, covering product receipt, storage, blending, and dispatch of refueling equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and industry best practices.
  • Oversee maintenance of the companys refueling equipment fleet, ensuring 100% uptime across all operational locations.
  • Plan and implement both preventive and corrective maintenance for terminal and aviation equipment, including bowsers, meters, pumps, etc.
  • Ensure all terminal and bowser maintenance and operations comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and applicable legal requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
  • Coordinate with external service providers and contractors for specialized maintenance and repairs. Manage vendor contracts, negotiate service agreements, and ensure quality performance.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans for terminal-related incidents, including conducting drills to ensure team readiness.
  • Provide visible and effective leadership across teams, including terminal operators, maintenance technicians, aviation technical staff, and engineers.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to develop and execute emergency response plans for aviation incidents, minimizing risk and ensuring quick, effective action.
  • Promote and monitor environmental management practices to reduce the environmental impact of terminal operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with up to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 45 years in a supervisory role, preferably within a similar capacity.
  • Active membership in a relevant professional association is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of terminal operations, maintenance standards, safety protocols, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex issues effectively.
  • Strong safety mindset and commitment to compliance.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative approach.
  • Effective relationship management and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to optimize resources for terminal operations and maintenance.
