Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to manage payroll, process donations, and oversee the organization's overall financial management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to supporting our mission through sound financial practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Management:
Process and manage monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Maintain and update payroll records, including any tax withholdings, benefits, and employee deductions.
Ensure timely submission of payroll taxes and related filings, maintaining compliance with local labor laws.
Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve any discrepanciesefficiently.
Donation Processing:
Accurately record and manage all incoming donations, including cash, checks, online payments, and in-kind contributions.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to charitable donations.
Maintain detailed donor records and prepare donation reports for internal
use and donor communications.
Collaborate with the fundraising team to provide financial insights for donor engagement and reporting.
Financial Management:
Oversee the organizations financial operations, including budgeting,
forecasting, and financial planning.
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
to the management team.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and
accurate invoicing.
Monitor cash flow and financial transactions, ensuring the organizations
financial health and sustainability.
Assist in the preparation for audits and liaise with external auditors as
required.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance
efficiency and compliance.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare detailed financial reports to support decision-making processes.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for
improvement.
Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing financial
performance and resource allocation.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent
certification preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on payroll and
financial management.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and payroll systems.
Strong knowledge of financial regulations, payroll processes, and donation
management.
Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and reporting.
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential
information.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work
collaboratively across teams.
