Job Overview:
Our client, a reputable full-scale EPC firm in the oil and gas sector, is seeking a highly experienced Project Control Lead to manage planning, scheduling, cost control, and progress monitoring across complex engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and analytical capabilities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with regulatory and contractual standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.

  • Establish and manage comprehensive cost control systems including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques to monitor project performance.

  • Track project KPIs and prepare periodic reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Coordinate across engineering, procurement, and construction teams to maintain schedule and budget alignment.

  • Identify project risks, propose mitigation plans, and support proactive resolution strategies.

  • Ensure full compliance with client specifications, Nigerian regulations, and internal company standards.

  • Support contract administration, including change order tracking and claims analysis.

  • Lead and mentor project control teams, fostering skill development and collaboration.

  • Interface with clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies including NCDMB and DPR.

  • Support ISO 9001 quality management system implementation and audit preparation in collaboration with HSE and QA/QC departments.

  • Enforce adherence to safety protocols and quality processes.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in project controls within the Oil & Gas EPC industry.

  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and cost control tools such as SAP, Oracle, and Excel.

  • Strong grasp of CPM scheduling, EVM practices, and project control methodologies.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Familiarity with Nigerian local content laws and oil & gas regulatory environment.

  • Relevant certifications such as PMP, CCP (AACE), or PRINCE2 are highly desirable.

  • Proven experience working with multidisciplinary teams and delivering high-value infrastructure projects.
