Job Summary:
The Lead Mechanical Engineer will oversee plant mechanical operations, ensuring optimal machine performance, minimal downtime, and continuous improvement across production processes. This role involves leading maintenance activities, managing technicians, and driving efficiency in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead machine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime
• Analyse mechanical and production data to improve plant performance
• Manage repair activities, modifications, and maintenance planning
• Supervise and evaluate maintenance technicians and provide ongoing training
• Ensure availability and proper management of mechanical spare parts inventory
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for technical support and emergency services
• Maintain and analyse machine breakdown records to reduce repair time
• Develop contingency plans for equipment reliability and obsolescence management
• Support production in implementing technical changes for new products/processes
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain mechanical data systems

Requirements:

• B.Eng / B.Sc / HND in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Professional certifications (e.g., COREN, NSE) are required
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in a manufacturing/production environment
• Strong experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and process optimization
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage maintenance operations
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
