Job Profile:

The HR Manager will oversee end-to-end HR operations for the Kaduna plant, partnering closely with factory leadership and head office to drive a high‑performance, compliant, and engaged workforce in a fast‑paced FMCG/manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive HR operations for the Kaduna factory/plant, acting as the primary HR business partner to Plant Manager and functional heads.
  • Lead manpower planning, recruitment, and onboarding for factory and support roles, ensuring timely staffing for production and shift operations.
  • Implement and manage HR policies, SOPs, and disciplinary procedures in line with labour laws, company standards, and factory regulations.
  • Oversee time & attendance, shift rosters, leave management, and payroll inputs for plant staff and workers.
  • Manage employee relations on site, including grievances, engagement, communication forums, and conflict resolution to maintain harmonious industrial relations.
  • Partner with key stakeholders (plant leadership, head office HR, HSE, Finance, Unions/Worker reps, regulators) to support business objectives and resolve people issues.
  • Coordinate performance management cycles, goal setting, appraisals, and performance improvement plans for plant employees.
  • Identify training needs and implement learning, HSE, and compliance trainings for both white- and blue-collar staff.
  • Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance for the plant (labour laws, factory act, contracts, documentation, audits).
  • Track and report HR metrics for the plant (turnover, absenteeism, disciplinary cases, headcount, overtime) and recommend improvements.

Stakeholder management focus

  • Build strong, trust‑based relationships with plant leadership, line managers, and supervisors to influence people decisions.
  • Engage proactively with employees, and external stakeholders to prevent and resolve conflicts early.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration or related field; professional HR certification is an advantage.
  • 6–8 years progressive HR experience, with at least 4 years in a factory/plant‑based HR role in FMCG or manufacturing.
  • Proven experience supporting shop‑floor/plant operations, including shift patterns and blue‑collar workforce management.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, with ability to partner with senior leadership and shop‑floor employees.​​
