Position Overview
The Equipment Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and compliance of manufacturing equipment within the API plant. This role supports maintenance strategies, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to ensure safe, efficient, and GMP-compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, lead troubleshooting and provide technical support to a team of mechanical and instrumentation technicians who are on shift
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining (including procuring) critical spares to support minimise plant downtime due to equipment/instrument failure
- Develop and improve maintenance programs to maintain plant assets. Review equipment performance and modify the plant maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability
- Ensure that plant maintenance instructions are developed to ensure safety of personnel carrying out the tasks
- Ensure that the plant maintenance program satisfies internal control framework and global engineering standard requirements with respect to safety
- Ensure that plant maintenance instructions are developed with Quality mindset and to incorporate data integrity requirements
- Ensure high standard of housekeeping- Right parts on hand and stored in the proper places
- Perform timely review of executed work orders
- Support the Engineering Manager in planning and coordinating yearly plant shutdown activities
- Lead and coordinate maintenance activities to allow rapid product changeovers for the four production steams
- Support closure of minor improvement projects by creating/updating preventive maintenance plans to align with project scope
- Identify and lead improvement projects
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- 3–8 years of experience in pharmaceutical, API, or chemical manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of GMP requirements and regulated industry standards
- Experience in maintenance of process equipment in API manufacturing
