The Role
As our Senior Accountant, you'll take ownership of a diverse portfolio and play a key role in delivering high-quality financial and advisory services. This is more than a compliance role — you'll contribute to strategy, reporting, and business improvement initiatives.
You'll work closely with our team and clients, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and meaningful insights that drive smarter decisions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing and analysing financial statements for Trusts, Companies, and Partnerships
- Completing tax returns for all entity types and individuals within deadlines
- Managing monthly and quarterly reconciliations and ledger maintenance
- Overseeing bookkeeping functions (AP, AR, payroll)
- Preparing management reports with clear, actionable insights
- Budget development, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Maintaining general ledger integrity and supporting year-end audit preparation
- Ensuring compliance for non-profit organisations
- Supporting team collaboration and process improvements
- Contributing to advisory services including:
- Due diligence for business purchases/sales
- Financial forecasting and viability assessments
- Business valuations
- Education sector advisory work (RTO Accountants) – training provided
About You
- 6+ years experience in Australian public practice accounting
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax and compliance
- Highly proficient in Xero
- Experience with Karbon (highly regarded)
- Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capability
- Confident communicator (written and verbal)
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and solutions-focused
- Able to work independently and take full ownership of your responsibilities
