Job Summary:

As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for the review of multiple Bookkeeping clients every month. This includes providing feedback to the Bookkeepers who prepared the month ends and ensure it for quality, and that the job is done to a 90% to 100% completion stage for the Senior Client Manager. Your role will be task-driven, but you will also have the opportunity to work with the bookkeepers by helping and guiding them through their scheduled tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Highly technical review of:
  • Bank and credit card statements reconciliations,
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers,
  • GST, payroll source deductions and corporate tax instalments,
  • Payroll,
  • Monthly financial statements.
  • Understand and is disciplined in following prescribed procedures, templates and formatting,
  • Communicate with management any issues or items missing for discussion and resolution,
  • Review the bookkeeping checklist and reports to management daily,
  • Review how the bookkeepers have addressed the review notes provided to them.
  • Follow the schedule of assigned work to meet deadlines,
  • Monitor time budget and job card details as part of the production deliverables

Experience and Skills

  • Bookkeeping experience,
  • Experience managing a team with multiple members to meet deadlines,
  • Awareness and self-discipline to manage one's schedules and the firm production schedule,
  • Can differentiate and prioritize between mission-critical tasks and less urgent items,
  • Xero experience and Xero certified,
  • Experience with Excel,
  • Fluent in English, both written and oral,
  • High technical knowledge and the ability to apply it to finalize bookkeeping work,
  • High attention to detail is a must.
  • Strong documentation abilities for working papers, reconciliations, and task updates
