Position Summary:
As the Intermediate Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and tax services to our clients. The position primarily involves communicating with individual clients for their personal tax returns, including face-to-face meetings and phone and email correspondence. This position also involves preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Assist in the reviewing of individual tax returns of less experienced colleagues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional service and addressing their accounting and tax-related needs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting standards and participate in ongoing professional development activities.
Skills:
- 2-3 years of experience in Australian Public Accounting, with a focus on tax preparation and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in accounting software Xero.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong client service orientation and interpersonal skills.
