Position Summary:

As an experienced Accountant, your role will involve mentoring junior staff and ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial information. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a business services role, strong technical skills, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review individual, company, partnership, and trust financial statements & tax returns from start to finish.
  • Build relationships with business owners across various industries.
  • Train junior accountants, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Handle tax matters including Division 7A, CGT, and trust distributions.
  • Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS).

Skills:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in working in a public practice firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software Xero.
  • Proficiency in FYI docs desired, but not essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to manage your own workflow.
