Position Summary:
As an experienced Accountant, your role will involve mentoring junior staff and ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial information. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a business services role, strong technical skills, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review individual, company, partnership, and trust financial statements & tax returns from start to finish.
- Build relationships with business owners across various industries.
- Train junior accountants, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Handle tax matters including Division 7A, CGT, and trust distributions.
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS).
Skills:
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in working in a public practice firm.
- In-depth knowledge of Australian tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software Xero.
- Proficiency in FYI docs desired, but not essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to manage your own workflow.
