We are looking for a passionate and talented senior bookkeeper who can take on the challenge of running our clients accounts function end-to-end and work alongside the Senior Client Manager to deliver monthly reporting.

Job Overview:

As our Senior Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records for multiple clients. This role involves overseeing daily bookkeeping activities, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive bookkeeping experience, excellent organisational skills, and a keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and managing ledgers.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Oversee payroll processing, including calculating and recording payroll transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and stay updated on changes in accounting standards and practices.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of Australian bookkeeping experience, within a public practice environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills (comfortable using pivot tables, can use VLOOKUP)
  • Advanced knowledge of Xero
  • Strong knowledge of Australian bookkeeping principles and practices
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
