We are supporting a manufacturing organization in identifying a Plastic Molding Engineer who will take ownership of injection molding process performance across tooling, production, and quality. This role is suited for someone who enjoys being hands-on on the shop floor while also driving structured process improvements.

What the role is about

This position focuses on ensuring injection molding processes run consistently, efficiently, and to specification. The engineer will be involved from early mold trials through mass production, acting as a technical problem-solver and a bridge between tooling, production, and quality teams.

Key Focus Areas

  • Drive stability and repeatability of injection molding processes for existing and new products
  • Analyze and resolve molding-related issues such as dimensional variation, cosmetic defects, and cycle inefficiencies
  • Define optimal machine parameters and validate processes using data-driven and scientific molding approaches
  • Support mold trials and provide technical input on mold design, performance, and maintenance requirements
  • Partner with Quality to ensure parts meet functional and regulatory standards, including process control implementation
  • Provide day-to-day technical guidance to production teams to reduce downtime and scrap
  • Document processes, analyze production trends, and contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives

What were looking for

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of practical experience in plastic injection molding within a structured manufacturing setup
  • Strong understanding of thermoplastic materials, mold behavior, and injection molding machines
  • Experience supporting validation activities and controlled manufacturing processes is highly valued
  • Ability to read technical drawings and collaborate effectively with tooling and design teams
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate clearly across functions
