We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer Manager with expertise in managing and overseeing the mechanical aspects of a gold processing plant's construction. This role will play a critical part in the successful design and implementation of systems and equipment that meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and efficiency.
Job Responsibilities:
As the Mechanical Engineer Manager, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical engineering efforts specifically for the gold processing plant construction. Key responsibilities include:
- Mechanical Design & Control:
- Design, review, and control the mechanical systems and processes required for the construction of the gold processing plant.
- Ensure all mechanical aspects of the project comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and operational requirements.
- Oversee the selection, installation, and commissioning of mechanical equipment for ore processing, crushing, and conveying systems.
- Project Management & Execution:
- Lead and manage all mechanical engineering activities from conceptual design through to commissioning and start-up of the plant.
- Ensure project milestones and deadlines are met while maintaining budget controls and managing resources effectively.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, contractors, and project teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Maintenance & Operational Readiness:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance strategies for mechanical systems to ensure optimal plant operation post-construction.
- Establish protocols and guidelines for equipment testing and troubleshooting to ensure the highest levels of plant efficiency.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead a team of mechanical engineers and technicians, providing direction, mentoring, and professional development.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical, civil, and process engineers, to ensure the smooth execution of the construction project.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations related to mechanical engineering in gold processing plant operations.
- Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to guarantee the safety and reliability of mechanical systems.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Masters degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role, preferably in mining, processing plants, or industrial construction.
- Proven experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems for gold processing or similar plants.
- Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects within budget and on schedule.
- Proficiency in using engineering design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
- In-depth understanding of mechanical systems, including conveyors, pumps, crushers, and processing equipment.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to plant construction, mechanical systems, and safety.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
