About the job Sales Director
Our client is a leading FMCG company and is currently growing their business. They are looking for a Sales Director to help them boost their sales and drive their strategy. The Sales Director will be responsible for leading and managing the sales team, developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve company goals, and driving revenue growth. This senior-level position requires a dynamic and experienced leader with a proven track record in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or related industry, particularly within the food and beverage sector. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of market trends, a strong ability to build and maintain client relationships, and exceptional leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to identify new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with senior management to set sales objectives, forecasts, and budgets.
- Team Management and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing sales team.
- Establish clear performance metrics, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and professional development of the sales force.
- Sales and Business Development:
- Drive new business development by identifying and securing key accounts and partnerships.
- Negotiate and close high-value deals with major clients, including modern trade and general trade channels.
- Ensure the sales team effectively manages and grows existing client relationships.
- Operational Excellence:
- Monitor sales performance against targets, prepare detailed reports, and present findings to leadership.
- Optimize sales processes and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work closely with marketing, supply chain, and finance departments to ensure seamless operations and alignment with company goals.
- Market and Product Expertise:
- Maintain a deep understanding of the companys product portfolio and its competitive advantages.
- Act as a subject matter expert on market dynamics and customer needs to inform product development and marketing strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Sales Director, Head of Sales).
- Proven experience in the FMCG or food and beverage industry is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing sales strategies that have resulted in significant revenue growth.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using sales analytics and CRM software.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel as required.
