Job Description

  • Review job packets for setups and job specific information
  • Setup jobs on the machine including clamps, shims, wedges and various other tooling to physically secure the job
  • Identify, locate and load items using equipment as needed (cranes, fork trucks etc.)
  • Load program and verify accuracy through either a test run (if possible) or verifying accuracy as job is being worked on
  • Write basic programs and edit Cam programs
  • Continually monitor job and ensure accuracy and speeds
  • Continually improve the process by finding, documenting and implementing (both independently and with the help of the team) more efficient ways to complete the job (updated programming, positioning, tooling etc.)
  • Cleanup finished product by de-burring, wiping down etc.
  • Unload finished product from machine and ensure that it is moving on to its next work center
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment
  • Make management aware of any issues with the machine or consumables

General Skills

  • Ability to read blueprints/drawings
  • Use various measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, tape measure etc.)
  • Proficient in math (algebra, geometry, etc.)
  • Attention to detail
  • Safety

Qualifications

  • Mechanical ability
  • Ideally 1 year of experience or trade school (but not required)
