Intern - Geotechnical

Whitestone Associates, Inc., a 100% employee-owned company and leading provider of environmental and geotechnical engineering and consulting services throughout the eastern US, is currently recruiting a Geotechnical Engineer Intern.

This is an excellent opportunity for engineering students to get real-life experience in the geotechnical engineering field. These internships are paid, part-time positions with flexible hours.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Responsibilities:

• Soil laboratory testing and coordination;
• Assisting with materials testing in our on-site laboratory;
• Geotechnical site research;
• Some field construction phase testing and inspection;
• Assisting with soil boring and/or test pit investigations;
• Assisting with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments;
• Phase II Site Investigation/Remedial Investigations; and
• Assisting with due diligence reports and regulatory agency submittals.

Requirements:

• Pursuing a degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering; and
• Ideally candidates will have taken and passed a Soils Laboratory class.
