IT Security Officer

We are looking for an IT Security Officer with strong experience working in the banking sector to help strengthen and maintain our organizations security posture.

The ideal candidate has previously handled security governance, application/system security development, and risk monitoring within banking environments. You will be responsible for supporting secure system development practices, implementing controls, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain security controls for banking applications and infrastructure.

• Conduct security reviews across systems, applications, and development processes.
• Work closely with engineering and IT teams to integrate security into SDLC and banking systems.
• Monitor and assess potential risks, incidents, and vulnerabilities.
• Support regulatory compliance and audit activities (e.g., ISO, PCI-DSS, local banking regulatory standards).
• Investigate security breaches, anomalies, and enforce remediation plans.
• Create documentation, policies, and guidelines related to information security.
• Evaluate tools, security solutions, and emerging technologies relevant to banking security.

Qualifications:

• 2-3 years experience in cybersecurity or application security within a bank or financial institution
• Hands-on experience in vulnerability scanning, system hardening, and access/identity controls
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, NIST, or local banking regulations)
• Experience securing applications, APIs, databases, or online financial systems
• Ability to analyze risk and support remediation plans with technical teams
