About the job System administrator
The System Administrator role entails the following responsibilities:
- Assists in long-range planning. And in managing projects assigned.
- Provides technical expertise to users by recommending the most appropriate hardware and software products suitable to their needs.
- Provides technical support (evaluation, recommendation, installation, and implementation in conjunction with third-party products
- Provides problem resolution for systems and end-users.
- Analyzes and provides recommendations based on systems requirements
- Performs corrective or preventive maintenance
- Implements procedures and solutions for optimizing systems and software within the department
- Maintains up-to-date documentation and records pertaining to department infrastructure.
- Knowledgeable in developing and conducting technical transfer training programs for other employees at same or lower-level of this series
- Thorough and adept in developing technical diagnostics manuals for colleagues.
- Performs research in support of planning and upgrades/replacement of systems and software
- Ensures systems functionality, integrity and efficiency.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
