The Scrum Master plays a key role in enabling Agile teams to deliver high-quality solutions by fostering Agile practices, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, and driving continuous improvement. Acting as a servant leader, the Scrum Master supports the team in achieving sprint goals, removing impediments, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and delivery outcomes. This role works closely with Product Owners, stakeholders, and development teams to promote collaboration, transparency, and Agile maturity across projects.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  2. Guide Agile teams in adopting and adhering to Scrum values, Agile principles, and best practices.
  3. Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure the product backlog is well-groomed, prioritized, and ready for sprint execution.
  4. Monitor sprint progress, team velocity, and delivery commitments, ensuring transparency of project status.
  5. Proactively identify, manage, and remove impediments that may impact team productivity and delivery timelines.
  6. Track and report Agile metrics such as velocity, sprint burndown, cycle time, and team performance indicators.
  7. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
  8. Support project planning, release management, and delivery coordination activities.
  9. Manage Agile boards, workflows, and reporting dashboards using Jira and related tools.
  10. Escalate and manage risks, dependencies, and issues to ensure timely resolution.
  11. Coach team members on Agile methodologies and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  12. Partner with Agile Coaches, Delivery Leads, and other Scrum Masters to improve Agile practices across teams.
  13. Support stakeholder engagement by providing regular updates on project progress, risks, and delivery outcomes.
  14. Drive retrospective action plans and ensure continuous improvement initiatives are implemented.

Required Qualifications

  1. 2-3 years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Project Coordinator, Delivery Lead, or related Agile role.
  2. Proven experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and supporting Agile software development teams.
  3. Hands-on experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  4. Familiarity with additional Agile frameworks such as Kanban or Lean.
  5. Experience tracking Agile delivery metrics and utilizing data to drive team improvements.
  6. Strong stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.
  7. Ability to identify and resolve team impediments while managing risks and dependencies.
  8. Experience working in cross-functional and fast-paced software development environments.
  9. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  10. Ability to coach and influence team members without direct authority.
  11. Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, Agile principles, and software development lifecycles.
  12. Certifications related to Scrum Master, Agile, or Project Management is a plus but not required.
