Software Engineer - C/C++

The role is for a software application developer who designs, builds, maintains, and supports client-driven applications across the full Software Development Life Cycle. Working closely with the project team, the developer troubleshoots issues, delivers patches, performs testing, and provides live-system technical support, ensuring application stability, security, and availability. The position also supports customer service requests and may assist the presales team with technical guidance, with an advantage for candidates familiar with banking and financial systems.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain applications based on client requirements
2. Troubleshoot application bugs and prepare patches
3. Conduct unit testing and performance testing on applications
4. Provide technical support for the live system
5. Work closely with the project team to develop applications throughout their life cycle according to coding standards and best practices
6. Tackle challenging functional and technical problems independently
7. Ensure application stability, security, and availability in adherence to company standards and guidelines
8. Engage with customers to solve technical and operational service requests
9. Assist the presales team with solutions and technical guidance

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related courses
2. At least 2 years of working experience in GNU C/C++ application development and the Software Development Life Cycle
3. Knowledge of TCP/IP socket communication and multi-threading
4. Knowledge of SQL and RDBMS
5. Knowledge of XML
6. Knowledgeable working in a UNIX environment
7. Hands-on experience with version control and/or bug tracking systems
8. Experience working with databases such as Oracle, Postgre, or IBM DB2
9. Amenable to work in Makati (hybrid set-up)

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience working with banking and financial systems
