JOB PURPOSE:

Looking to hire a senior Stylist with 3 to 5 years of experience - British/European national.

To provide five-star hair services, ensuring that an excellent quality and superb seamless service is delivered to all clients at all times, giving them the wow factor. You should always support your colleagues whilst paying attention to detail whilst delivering your services as well as in your personal appearance and in the salon surroundings at all times.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clients

  • Ensure that the clients experience at Roots is memorable, flawless and outstanding; a true Home-away-from-home experience.
  • Maintain a high customer retention at all times through flawless service deliver and customer service, ensuring the customer will rebook.
  • Maintain a high profile at all times whilst being polite and helpful.
  • Review the clients information cards prior to the client arriving and always greet every client with their names.
  • Always remember and use the clients names.
  • Always remember Roots regular clients and know what their likes and dislikes are.
  • Smile and make eye contact with clients when passing through the salon.
  • Always listen and relate to each and every client, remembering to confirm what you have heard them say in order to ensure you understand their desires.
  • Always provide prompt, unobtrusive and attentive service.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance ensuring to always wear clean and well-pressed clothes with dressed hair and make-up.
  • Always maintain a high standard of personal hygiene especially during the summer months.
  • Discretion and confidentiality with VIP clients is essential and all information learnt should be confidentially given to the General Managers for the Client Forms.

Prior to Service:

  • Report for duty on time and be well prepared for your shift.
  • Attend daily briefings.
  • You are expected to know which clients you have every day and for what services.
  • Be aware of the clients you are sharing with other colleagues and ensure that they are not late for their follow-on appointments.
  • Adhere to agreed break times
  • Attend monthly staff meetings
  • Ensure that your trolley is set-up to standard, clean and equipped with sufficient clean towels and consumables etc.
  • Ensure all equipment serialised and ready to be used.

During Services:

  • Take instruction & guidance from your Managers and Reception Staff.
  • Continuously work in an organised and clean & tidy manner.
  • Always be very warm and welcoming and follow the standard greeting and farewell procedures throughout the day and always use a clients name.
  • Make every client feel special and ensure every service is performed to the very best of your ability, so that every client leaves the salon feeling amazing.
  • Always acknowledge every client when passing through your area/space.
  • Always up-sell on your services as well as other parts of the business when you can without being pushy.
  • Ensure you understand the other parts of the business and the services they provide in order to up-sell.
  • Ensure you always explain to your client what products you are using in order to let them know the benefits so they may consider purchasing them.
  • Always ensure that you communicate to clients the costs of any add-on services or the products so that they are able to make an informed decision if they want to spend the extra money on themselves.
  • Ensure your consultations are always thorough to avoid any contraindications that may result in the client not being able to have the treatment or service. That they are very clear, specific and you understand and manage the clients needs and always give her a quote for her service
  • Ensure that detailed aftercare is always given with a handout when appropriate.
  • Provide a calm and relaxing atmosphere at all times and always thinking of the clients comfort.
  • Always use sanitised tools and frequently check and maintain your areas to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Your equipment must be kept clean and well maintained at all times and any concerns should be raised with the General Manager immediately.
  • Always have clients safety in mind in all you do.
  • Ensure any patch tests needed are advised and ensure that the client signs a declaration if she declines to have a test.
  • Provide attentive, unobtrusive and prompt service and ensure your clients needs come first.
  • Always make sure your clients have drinks and offer top ups.
  • Ensure you have a good knowledge of all beverages offered as well as the service standard to provide the beverages.
  • Always consider that if your client has a long service she may get hungry so offer to order food for her.
  • Ensure that kitchen is kept clean and tidy at all times clear up after yourself and others we are a Team.
  • Try to help with the washing up if you have the time and do not sit on your phones when there are dirty plates and cups.
  • When you do not have any clients offer to help and support your colleagues.
  • Ensure all your stocks are kept maintained at required levels at all times. Any issues around stock must be raised with the General Manager immediately.
  • Ensure you understand which clients to need to be prioritised VIPs, unhappy clients, regulars etc
  • React promptly and deal with any issues, complaints, breakages, spillages and advise the General Manager immediately.
  • Communicate any issues to the General Manager at an appropriate time and as soon as possible in order to resolve them.

Between peak periods

  • Restocking of supplies.
  • Ensure everything is left clean and tidy.
  • Report any outstanding issues to the Managers.
  • Follow the Company Policy for lateness and sickness.
  • Find task to do when you are not busy and offer help to your colleagues.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • To understand the principles of Roots.
  • To have a full working knowledge of the operation.
  • To have an excellent understanding of the different products we stock.
  • To have an excellent knowledge of Kerastase.
  • To have a thorough knowledge of our opening hours.
  • To participate in all departmental training.
  • To have a full understanding of all items of equipment, their uses and where they are kept.
  • To represent management in the event of an emergency, know the location of the emergency exits and extinguishers and understand your role in such an event.
  • To pay due regard to the companys Health & Safety Policy and to ensure standards are met throughout the business.
  • To pay due attention to the Companys policy on Confidentiality.
