About Westerwelle Startup Haus Tunis

Westerwelle Startup Haus Tunis (WSHT) is a startup hub empowering local entrepreneurs and supporting the innovation ecosystem in Tunisia. The hub offers co-working space to its members, runs in-house incubation and acceleration programmes, and hosts regular events with stakeholders from the ecosystem. Headquartered in Berlin, the Westerwelle Foundation currently operates hubs in Rwanda, Tanzania, Tunisia, Kenya, and Ghana. It runs support programmes focused on business ideation, proof of concept, and international acceleration. The Tunis hub provides a collaborative space for startups to develop and connect with other stakeholders.

About the Role

As the Marketing Intern at Westerwelle Startup Haus Tunis, you will support the team in amplifying the brand, growing our online presence, and helping tell the stories of the entrepreneurs and community we work with. This is a great opportunity for a creative, curious, and driven marketer at the start of their career who wants hands-on experience in an international, purpose-driven environment.

You will help plan and create content across our digital platforms, support marketing for events and programmes, and work closely with the Tunis team and the global Director of Community & Marketing to bring our campaigns to life. You'll be part of a growing innovation hub committed to advancing the Tunisian and African entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media

  • Support the planning, creation, and publishing of engaging content for social media
  • Help manage and grow our online presence across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook)
  • Support the creation of visual assets using tools like Canva
  • Help track performance metrics (reach, engagement, etc.) and report on results

Events & Visibility

  • Support the promotion of hub events, workshops, and networking activities
  • Help create marketing materials for events (invitations, visuals, recap content)
  • Provide on-the-ground support during events

Programme Marketing Support

  • Support the online promotion of programme participants and activities
  • Help track and report on marketing activities related to programmes

Who You Are (Qualifications)

Must-Haves

  • Currently finalizing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Strong written and spoken English. You'll be communicating to international partners and stakeholders
  • French and/or Arabic language skills
  • Some experience with social media management or content creation (personal, academic, or professional)
  • Familiarity with social media and basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Meta Suite)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a people-first mindset
  • Demonstrated creativity and storytelling skills

Nice-to-Haves

  • Interest in or exposure to startups, coworking spaces, or community-based organizations
  • Photography, video editing, or graphic design skills
  • Basic understanding of SEO or performance marketing
  • Knowledge of the Tunisian startup ecosystem or African innovation hubs
