We are looking for a Senior Front-End Software Engineer to join our team who has brilliant, problem-solving skills capable of developing, supporting, and maintaining our enterprise grade software applications. Utilizing progressive development practices, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology, and proactively supporting various initiatives in the team to improve application design, code quality and maintainability.


Technical skills:

  • Strong experience in JavaScript including NodeJS
  • Strong experience with Vue.js framework
  • Experience with React and/or Angular frameworks is a plus
  • Responsive HTML, CSS including CSS pre processers (SASS and LESS)
  • Git and Git workflows
  • Build tools including Webpack, Grunt and Gulp
  • CD/CI pipelines (GitHub Actions)
  • Experience in CI/CD pipelines and YAML pipelines (GitHub actions)
  • Familiar with and capable of working in a Microservices environment
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies Azure or AWS
  • Applying SOLID principles and using Test Driven Development practices

Requirements for the role:

  • Provide expertise and leadership in the development of new products, services, and processes from a front-end technical perspective.
  • Work independently adhering to high technical standards, taking ownership of projects ensuring they conform to departmental standards before going to QA.
  • Work effectively within an agile, deadline-driven production process to complete project development with rapid, iterative cycles.
  • Liaise with Team Leaders, Product and Project Managers to ensure projects are taken from creation to completion - on time and on budget.
  • Provide accurate estimates for existing and new projects alike.
  • Be an integral part of the code review process, providing constructive feedback against code produced by other team members.
  • Ensure good communication is maintained with other team members/departments throughout project life cycles.
  • Write clear, clean, and concise front-end code across a broad array of interactive web and mobile projects.
  • Employ test driven development (TDD) using OOP techniques on all projects where appropriate.
  • Fix bugs and software problems rapidly.
  • Use lateral thinking and investigative techniques to solve challenges across various technical streams.
  • Participate in the ongoing development, adoption and promotion of front-end web coding and design standards.
  • Investigate and participate in discussions with team members about best practices and help identify optimal technical solutions.
  • Actively contribute to departmental learning and standards within the team environment through involvement in presentations/demonstrations and participate in the continual drive for collaboration and knowledge sharing amongst the team.
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends and emerging technologies within the UX/UI community and continually develop front-end skills.
