Role: New Zealand Tax Manager

Set-up: Hybrid (Ortigas, Pasig) 2-3 days WFH/Onsite (Mon-Fri but should be amenable to work on weekends during busy days) 

Job Description

- Liaise with Supervisors or Managers on a regular basis to understand and obtain workflow and delivery timetable and client service expectations.

- Perform work and provide related deliverables in accordance with AC Manilas Training Materials/ETs instructions as applied to work requests.

- Maintain working knowledge of the AC Manila Training Materials.

- Monitor time spent on assigned tasks and manage deadlines.

- Adhere to AC Manila policies and procedures.

- Contribute to the development of your own and teams technical acumen.

- Participate in training and other developmental opportunities where possible.

- Demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks while exercising professional skepticism.

- Consistently demonstrate teamwork dynamics by working as a team member: understanding personal and team roles; contribute to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members; and proactively seeking guidance, clarification, and feedback.

- Establish effective working relationships directly with clients

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

- Demonstrate ability to lead or coordinate and display ownership of projects/initiatives.

- Present ideas and suggestions on how to improve work processes.

- Assign work based on the team's availability and capacity.

- Demonstrate awareness of the teams workload and communicate resource requirements when appropriate.

- Coach staff by providing proactive and constructive feedback in a timely manner in order for them to develop and meet their objectives and improve performance.

Qualifications: 

a. Bachelors degree in Accounting, Commerce, and/or Business.

b. At least 5 years relevant work experience in assurance, tax, accounting, and/or analysis work with the last year being in a supervisory role.

c. CPA or CA

Preferred Experience/Skills 

- Understanding of accounting and business concepts

- Some understanding of Australian/New Zealand taxation, legislation and regulatory requirements will be advantageous

- Good understanding of corporate financial statements.

- Demonstrate self-motivation and a desire to take responsibility for personal growth and development.

- Commit to continuous training and proactively learn new processes.

Specific Technical Skills

- Superior working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (in particular Excel and Word) and Adobe Acrobat.

- Working knowledge of Accounting Systems or databases (XPA, Value Financials, Xero, Quickbooks Online) will be advantageous.

- Ability to communicate (i.e., read, write, speak) with business-level fluency in English.

- Other capabilities Strong ability in working and effectively communicating with team members at all levels including senior management.

- Comfortable communicating with the territories.

- Demonstrates flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks while exercising professional skepticism.

- Ability to coach subordinates in the development of their career and skills

- Be a lateral thinker and comfortable in leading and guiding team members as necessary.

- Ability to provide training, technical coaching, and support to other team members.

- Can work independently with minimal/no supervision.
