About:
Our client seeks an experienced litigation associate for the firms class action practice group to join their San Diego Office.
The firm provides comprehensive solutions for the legal needs of companies throughout California.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle class action lawsuits throughout the life of the case with oversight and mentoring from partners.
- Internal investigations, legal research, preparing discovery and taking/defending depositions, drafting motions and pleadings, and representing clients at court conferences, hearings, and trials.
- Analyze client needs, identify solutions, and determine case strategies
- Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings
- Advise clients by weighing available options toward a successful outcome and plan a course of action
- Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions
- Communicate with partners, associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in employment litigation, particularly in defending wage and hour class actions and PAGA.
- Must also have excellent writing and oral advocacy skills and significant experience in discovery and law and motion practice.
- Communication, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and public speaking skills required.
- Member of their local bar association.
- Work independently while handling a heavy caseload.
- Computer skills working with iManage and Coyote Analytics preferred.
- Must also be a self-starter who possesses strong organizational skills, can work with multiple clients and attorneys, and is ready to hit the ground running.
- 1850 billable hours.
