As an MRI Technologist, you will be a vital part of our healthcare team, using your expertise to create detailed images that guide physicians in diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions. You’ll work with state-of-the-art equipment, collaborate with other healthcare professionals, and make a tangible difference in patients’ lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI Scans: Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality images of patients' internal structures, including the brain, spine, joints, and organs, while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Patient Interaction: Prepare and educate patients before their MRI procedures, explain the process, and ensure they understand the importance of following instructions for optimal imaging results.
- Positioning and Safety: Position patients correctly to obtain the clearest, most accurate images. Adhere to strict safety protocols to ensure the well-being of patients, especially in relation to MRI safety guidelines (e.g., avoiding metallic objects).
- Technical Expertise: Use advanced imaging techniques, including contrast injections, to produce high-resolution images and work with radiologists to capture the necessary data for diagnosis.
- Maintain Equipment: Monitor the MRI equipment’s functionality, perform regular maintenance, troubleshoot technical issues, and assist with upgrades or replacements as needed.
- Documentation and Records: Ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient information, procedures performed, and any pertinent notes related to imaging results.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and help guide patient care and treatment plans.
- Patient Comfort and Care: Provide exceptional patient care, offering reassurance and support throughout the MRI process to reduce anxiety and ensure a positive experience.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
- Licensure/Certification:
- Registered MRI Technologist (R.T. (MR)) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Current state licensure as required
- CPR and BLS certification
- Skills:
- Proficient with MRI equipment and imaging techniques
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring the highest quality imaging results
- Ability to work with patients of all ages and handle diverse medical conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient care
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to address technical issues or patient concerns
