Lead Cutting-Edge Virtualization Projects as an SSA/Virtualization Specialist!

As a SSA/Virtualization Specialist, you will be at the forefront of transforming and optimizing virtualization solutions. You’ll work with diverse systems, oversee project execution, and provide critical leadership to ensure system stability and operational success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Virtualization Projects: Plan, manage, and execute virtualization projects, including the installation and configuration of network components. Ensure all systems meet the performance and operational standards for mission-critical environments.
  • System Testing & Validation: Conduct regular, integrated, and special system tests on virtualized equipment to ensure performance and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during testing phases.
  • Custom Solutions & Implementation: Design and implement tailored solutions based on specific user and access control requirements. Ensure seamless integration with existing systems and infrastructure.
  • Reporting & Presentation: Prepare and present clear, actionable reports and presentations on system performance, project milestones, and testing outcomes. Provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Training & Development: Provide on-the-job training and mentoring for junior staff and customers, ensuring they are equipped to support and operate virtualized systems effectively.
  • Customer Coordination & Satisfaction: Work closely with field engineers and other teams to ensure that customer needs are met and that projects are executed to the highest standards of quality and satisfaction.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting: Take a leadership role in addressing mid-level escalations, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution for issues within the virtualized environment.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as needed to support the successful operation and growth of the virtualization program.

Required Qualifications:

  • Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance required (with willingness to undergo a CI Polygraph).

Education & Experience:

  • A four-year degree in System Administration, IT, Computer Science, or a related field, along with 5+ years of experience designing, managing, and troubleshooting complex computer networks.
  • Alternatively, 10+ years of relevant experience can substitute for the degree requirement.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in installing and configuring:
  • Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops
  • Citrix ADC (Netscaler)
  • Microsoft Failover Cluster (current version)
  • Microsoft Hyper-V Manager (current version)
  • Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM)
  • Extensive knowledge of hypervisors, virtualization subsystems, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for IT system automation and process optimization.
  • Expertise in Active Directory (AD) for managing access control and system resources.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing cloud-based remote access solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and additional Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
