Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive Patient Care: Diagnose, treat, and manage patients with a variety of urological conditions, including but not limited to prostate and kidney cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), urinary tract infections (UTIs), incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and kidney stones.
- Surgical Expertise: Perform both minimally invasive and traditional urological surgeries, including prostatectomies, cystectomies, laparoscopic procedures, and robotic-assisted surgeries, to treat a variety of urological disorders.
- Patient Consultations: Conduct in-depth patient consultations, providing clear explanations about their conditions and treatment options, offering compassionate care and reassurance.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, oncologists, radiologists, and other specialists, to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.
- Treatment Planning and Follow-up: Develop personalized treatment plans based on the latest evidence-based guidelines and collaborate with patients for ongoing care and follow-up appointments to monitor their progress.
- Minimally Invasive Procedures: Lead in the application of advanced, minimally invasive techniques such as laser therapy, shockwave lithotripsy, and robotic-assisted surgery to reduce recovery times and improve patient outcomes.
- Research and Education: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in urology treatments, surgical techniques, and patient care. Participate in research initiatives and educational programs to continually enhance your expertise.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on preventive care, lifestyle changes, and post-operative care to help improve long-term outcomes and quality of life.
Qualifications:
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible in Urology (American Board of Urology or equivalent).
- Licensure: Current, valid state medical license to practice medicine.
- Expertise in performing both traditional and minimally invasive surgeries.
- Subspecialty expertise in areas such as urologic oncology, pediatric urology, female urology, or male infertility is a plus but not required.
- Skills:
- Advanced surgical skills, including proficiency with laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgery techniques.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills, with the ability to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex medical issues in an understandable and compassionate manner.
- A commitment to providing patient-centered care, with a focus on building long-term relationships with patients.
